Umuelem emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Isuochi Development Union Women’s Wing March Pass, organized by the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) during the 2024 biannual August meeting. The event showcased the vibrant spirit and competitive energy of women from across Isuochi, drawing participants from Ngodo, Mabala, Umuaku, Ihe, Amuda, Ndiawa, Achara, and the eventual winners, Umuelem.
The March Pass was marked by fierce competition as each group displayed precision, grace, and enthusiasm, impressing the large crowd of spectators. The women, young and energetic, marched smartly and elegantly, dressed in colourful uniforms that added to the festive atmosphere. Spectators cheered with excitement as the women executed their drills, and Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, who was present to take the salute, watched with pride as the participants performed with “eyes right” and “forward march” commands.
Umuelem’s performance stood out among the competitors, earning them the top prize. Their synchronized movements, discipline, and overall presentation captured the admiration of the judges and the audience alike, securing their victory in the keenly contested event.
At the awards ceremony, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, the driving force behind the OACF, presented the trophies to the winning teams. Amuda, who secured third place, was awarded a prize of 50,000 Naira. Ngodo, who came in second, received 80,000 Naira. Umuelem, the champions of the day, proudly accepted the first-place trophy along with a cash prize of 100,000 Naira. A consolation prize of 20,000 Naira each were given to other participants.
The success of the March Pass not only highlighted the strong sense of people and tradition within Isuochi but also underscored the positive impact of the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation in fostering unity and empowerment among the women. The event was a prove to the vibrant culture of Umunneochi, with participants and spectators alike celebrating the achievements of the women who showcased their talents and dedication.
The memorable day ended with smiles all around, as Umuelem’s victory was celebrated and the other participants were recognized for their spirited efforts in making the event a resounding success.
