Another automotive industry, ROXETTES Motors is set to commence the assembly of vehicles in Abia State before the end of October 2024. This ambitious project marks a major milestone for the state and the entire South East region, as the construction of the assembly plant at Obu-Aku City in Ukwa West Local Government Area nears completion.
Governor Alex Otti officially test-drove the next vehicle line from the South East, demonstrating his support and enthusiasm for the project. The Abia-born Chief Executive Officer of ROXETTES Motors, Arc. Dr. Kaycee Orji, shared the exciting news during a meeting with Governor Otti on June 28th. Dr. Orji expressed his gratitude for the governor’s unwavering support and the enabling environment provided by the state government, which played a crucial role in transforming their dream into reality.
“What was a dream a year ago has now become a reality,” Dr. Orji said, emphasizing the importance of Governor Otti’s commitment to the project. The governor had encouraged the company to bring their vision of setting up a vehicle assembly plant in Nigeria to Abia State, promising to fulfill all necessary requirements to facilitate the venture.
The assembly plant, poised to roll out approximately 40,000 units of automobiles per annum, will focus on producing innovative and environmentally friendly vehicles. Notably, seventy percent of the production will consist of electric vehicles and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) driven vehicles. This move aligns with global trends towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions, positioning ROXETTES Motors as a forward-thinking player in the automotive industry.
The project is on track, with all the equipment needed to start production expected to arrive in Abia State by the end of August 2024.
