The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has charged Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia to go all the way to the finals of the on-going President Federation Cup.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu gave the charge during a chat with the players and officials in Umuahia shortly before they travelled to Lafia, Nasarawa State where they are billed to take on fellow Premiership side, Kano Pillars in one of the semi-final games of the Federation Cup.
He assured them of continued government support, and also congratulated them for cementing their premiership status.
“I want to congratulate you all for your NPFL safety. I want to urge you all to go all out to the finals of the President Federation Cup and bring the trophy home”, the Abia number two citizen said.
Meanwhile, Abia Warriors goalkeeper, Ali Ishaku is optimistic of getting to the finals of the President Federation Cup. This he disclosed to the club’s media during a media chat.
“The feeling is massive in camp and we believe we can get something from the there. This is the very first time we will be in the semi-finals. I am so glad and the players are glad to be part of history”.
According to the goaltender, it is the intention of the players to get themselves together, make it to the final and bring the cup home, adding that the spirit is very high in camp ahead of the game.

Maverick striker, Sunday Megwo and attacking midfielder, Meme Okike have recovered from injuries copped during the game against Akwa United FC to make the trip to Lafia.
