Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has appointed Ibrahim Umar to his media team, taking over the role of campaign spokesman from Dr. Yunusa Tanko. This announcement was made through a statement from the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) in Abuja on Sunday.
Umar replaces Tanko, who has been named the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement worldwide. The media team emphasized Umar’s dedication, describing him as a committed member of the Obidient Movement, driven by the same hunger for change as his predecessor.
The statement read: “The Peter Obi Media Reach wishes to inform the public, especially media professionals, of some minor changes in our team. Dr. Yunusa Tanko, who served as the chief spokesperson of the Obi Presidential Campaign, is stepping down from his role for a new challenge. He will be succeeded by Mallam Ibrahim Umar, a versatile and passionate Obidient member who is just as committed to the vision of a new Nigeria.”
The media team further called for support from Nigerians, adding: “We appeal to the public to cooperate with these individuals in their new roles as we continue our struggle to dismantle the gang of political criminals holding our nation hostage. A New Nigeria is Possible.”
