Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation conducted a highly successful environmental clean-up exercise at Leru Junction yesterday, drawing praise from community members and local officials. The event, which saw the participation of over 130 foundation members, highlighted the importance of environmental cleanliness and hygienic living conditions.
Oguama David, Zone 4 Coordinator of the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, expressed his joy at the massive turnout. “I am thrilled by the overwhelming support and participation in today’s clean-up exercise. It reflects our collective commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment,” Oguama said. He noted that the exercise was part of the foundation’s broader initiative to give back to communities across Umunneochi LGA, Abia North and the state at large.
“Our environmental cleanliness and hygiene awareness campaign is in line with the foundation’s mission to uplift our communities. Through scholarships, free healthcare services, and now this clean-up initiative, we aim to improve the quality of life for our people,” Oguama boasted.
The foundation’s efforts were bolstered by the presence of Hon. Okorie Ijeoma, Councilor representing Leru Ward in Umunneochi LGA, whose moral support greatly encouraged the participants. Her involvement underscored the importance of local government collaboration in community development projects.
Mr. Okafor Ikechukwu, Chairman of the Motor Park Union in Leru, who also attended the event thanked the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation for their initiative and promised the union’s total support for the Alex Otti-led administration in Abia State. “We are grateful for the foundation’s kind gesture and the positive impact it has on our community. We pray for their continued support and revisit,” Ikechukwu remarked.
In his contribution, Don Silas, Deputy Coordinator of Zone 2 of the Foundation, declared that, the clean-up exercise at Leru Junction was one of many activities organized by the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation which is aimed at improving living conditions and fostering community spirit. According to him, the foundation’s commitment to social causes has made it a household name in the region, with its efforts widely recognized and appreciated.
