Today, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation successfully hosted a significant event to commemorate the United Nations Day Against Illicit Trafficking and Drug Abuse. The program, held under the theme “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention,” took place at Iroh’s Compound, opposite the Umunneochi Local Government Area Headquarters in Nkwoagu. The event attracted a large turnout of participants from Umunneochi LGA and beyond.
Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, the founder of the foundation, took the occasion to express his gratitude to Governor Alex Otti. He acknowledged the governor’s support, which has been instrumental in the successes recorded by the foundation so far. Dr. Chukwu also extended his appreciation to the resource persons who brought their expertise to the event, educating participants and the general public on the importance of investing in prevention to combat illicit trafficking and drug abuse.
In his address, Dr. Chukwu emphasized the critical need for a healthy and drug-free society. He urged participants to make good use of the knowledge gained during the program and to apply it in their communities. “We must all work together to create a society free from the scourge of drug abuse. The knowledge you have acquired here today is a powerful tool in achieving this goal,” he stated.
Hon. Samuel Obiesie, one of the program directors, at the event, expressed his gratitude to God and appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the program. He specifically thanked the attendees from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Health Authority Secretary of Umunneochi for their participation. “I want to appreciate all those who attended the lectures and contributed to making this event a success.
