Following an ongoing effort to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF) has organized an awareness campaign to commemorate the United Nations Day Against Illicit Trafficking and Drug Abuse. The event will take place on July 6th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mr. Iroh’s compound in Amuda Isuochi.
Adaeze Favour Ezeudoye, a representative of OACF, has reached out to the Health Authority Secretary of Umunneochi LGA, requesting a resource person from the Health Authority to participate in the program. The event aims to shed light on the dangers of drug abuse and illicit trafficking through a series of interactive sessions, including a health talk, Q&A, and discussion.
In her letter, Ezeudoye emphasized the importance of the program’s theme, “The evidence is clear: invest in prevention.” The foundation’s objectives for the event are clear and focused:
– Raise awareness about drug abuse and its consequences.
– Educate the community about the risks associated with drug addiction.
– Promote healthy lifestyle choices.
– Encourage support for those affected by drug abuse.
“The participation of a representative from the Health Authority will be crucial in achieving these goals,” Ezeudoye stated. “Their expertise and insights will provide invaluable information to the attendees, helping to foster a more informed and proactive community.”
The OACF has a strong track record of organizing successful awareness campaigns and community programs, and this event is expected to be no different. With the inclusion of health professionals, the foundation aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of drug abuse’s impact on individuals and communities alike.
The foundation has requested confirmation of the Health Authority’s participation by June 30th to finalize the event schedule. The community eagerly awaits the Secretary’s response, hopeful that their expertise will help drive home the importance of drug prevention and healthy living.
“We are dedicated to making a positive impact on our community,” Ezeudoye remarked. “By working together with local health authorities and other stakeholders, we can create a supportive environment that encourages healthy choices and provides assistance to those in need.”
The event is open to all members of the community, and the OACF encourages everyone to attend and participate actively. With a strong turnout, the foundation hopes to make significant strides in raising awareness and combating the challenges posed by drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
As the July 6th date approaches, the Umunneochi community looks forward to a day of education, discussion, and collective action against drug abuse.
