Abia-born Onyinyechi Mark, secured Nigeria’s gold medal at the recently concluded 2024 Paralympics in Paris, she has been receiving accolades from various quarters. Among the latest to congratulate her are Abia State Governor Alex Otti and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.
Governor Otti, in a message shared on his social media, praised Mark for her remarkable achievement, noting that she not only won Nigeria’s gold medal at the Paralympics but also broke her previous world record in the powerlifting category, setting a new one. He described her victory as “truly remarkable” and a testament to her determination and courage.
