Governor Otti disclosed this at the monthly media chat tagged “Gov. Otti speaks to Abians” when asked about the palliative received from FG to cushion the effects of subsidy and how it was disbursed in the state.
“So the first set of subsidy was shared at the ward level, and we ensured it was shared to vulnerable men and women, and then the last set we shared to civil servants from grade level 1-7, maybe when we receive another set we’ll know how to share it.
“On the cash, i have reported earlier that we received 2billion naira which is still sitting in account and we’ve been expecting the balance of the money which haven’t come yet and by the time it comes, we have already after engagements with civil society groups and others concerned.
“we had decided that we’re going to use the money to procure CNG (compressed natural gas) buses for mass transit, we have started discussing while we’re expecting the balance of the money”
Gov. Otti’s response means that in no distant time, Abians will start enjoying transportation at subsidized prices.
Gov. Otti is not yet started with his plans for Abia, according to him this is just ‘dress rehearsal’, more are still coming!
